IMBALANCE. BALANCING. HANDLING OF THE CAR.

Abstract

The movement of a car is a complex movement, including, among other things, the vibrations of all major parts of the car and even their vibration. Vibration leads to deformations of vehicle parts and affects the well-being of the person driving this vehicle. Poor wheel balancing can be one of the causes of vibration. The smooth running of the vehicle, its handling and driving safety depend on the condition of the tires. Deformation of tires can cause by their incorrect centering relative to the main axis of rotation of the wheel, passing through its center of mass, that is, imbalance. The imbalance in the tires causes centrifugal forces, which cause shock to the wheels. This article discusses the options for the occurrence of imbalance in the wheel, provides calculations of the impact force of the imbalance and describes the actions to eliminate it. It is shown that a situation is possible when the impact force of static and dynamic imbalance is practically equal in magnitude, and in this case, to eliminate the imbalance, it is sufficient to carry out dynamic wheel balancing.
