Effect of ultrasonic treatment steel surface

Abstract

The experimental researches of influence ultrasonic treatment in the liquid environment on the surface structure and hardness of the constructional steel. The optimum technological regimes of ultrasonic treatment that provide maximum hardening without violation of the integrity surface were determined. It was shown that ultrasonic treatment increases the microhardness. Established that the surface hardening of steel is due to formation in the surface layer of the developed dislocation structure, grain refinement and microstresses.
