APPROXIMATE MATHEMATICAL MODELING OF THE TRAJECTORY OF THE ATS AT AN OBLIQUE HITTING THE SIDE OF A CABLE FENCE

Abstract

In the paper, an algorithm is described for the analytical construction of the trajectory of a motor vehicle when it hits a side cable fence (oblique impact of a car in a cable road fence) based on the results of full-scale tests.

The construction of such a trajectory makes it possible to study the movement of an automobile vehicle faster, in comparison with the construction and calculation of an FEM model, for example, according to two main factors of the internal safety of the driver/passenger:
– the influence of the safety belt;
– the need to operate the airbag.
The conducted tests of cable fencing make conclusions about the internal safety of the driver / passenger in general, without specifying the aspects of the work of each of the factors of internal security.
The proposed modeling facilitates the work on assessing the performance of internal security factors, and also helps to verify the correctness of the developed FEM model.
