Abstract

The paper presents the results of the development of a complex algorithm for controlling the high-pressure fuel pump (HPP) of the Common Rail injection system. The peculiarity of the algorithm is the use of predictive model and adaptation function working together with PID controller. The predictive model simplistically describes the working process of the hydraulic accumulator and specifies the operation of the PID-regulator. The adaptation function is a machine learning mechanism to store and utilise the result of the PID controller. The publication only summarises the adaptation, more detailed material will be presented in new papers. This control technique is new and allows to improve the quality of transient processes that have a significant impact on the environmental performance of the diesel engine. At the same time it is today, when high-performance microprocessor technology has appeared, the possibility of realisation of complex control algorithms has opened up. In this regard, this material is relevant and may be useful for specialists in controlling the working process of internal combustion engines. The efficiency of the algorithm has been verified experimentally. The publication contains: the structure of the whole algorithm of the fuel injector control, description of the PID-regulator, predictive model and brief information about the adaptation function. In addition, the publication provides information about the test bench and its automation, made with the technical support of the Production association OWEN.

Abstract

In the article, based on the generally recognized need to address the issues of accounting for the operating conditions of various equipment, an analysis of the classification of the operating conditions of rolling stock of motor transport is given. The features of the classification of operating conditions of road-building machines are considered, the reasons for the absence of a standard methodology for solving this problem are identified.

The article for the first time offers a method for classifying the operating conditions of front-end loaders. Classification methods are based on methodological developments of the authors and experimental material obtained as a result of operational observations of a batch of 47 front-end loaders. According to the nature of the work of loaders, six industries were identified in which the working conditions of the machines differed in the range of cargo transportation, the height of their lifting and other factors. As a result of the analysis of variance, six industries were transformed into three categories of loader operating conditions.

Processing of experimental samples of front-end loader developments for failure in different categories of operating conditions allowed us to establish the parameters of the Weibull distribution law, on the basis of which the dependences of the normalized indicators of technical operation of loaders on influencing factors were obtained and the coefficients of adjustment of standards for the categories of operating conditions under consideration were based. In conclusion, an assessment of the accuracy and reliability of the results was carried out. The developed methodology has yielded positive results in relation to front-end loaders and can be recommended for the classification of operating conditions and adjustment of standards of technical operation of other road construction machines.

Abstract

Braking performance is one of the most important performance properties for any vehicle. When braking on a horizontal surface, a two-axle passenger car is subject to the force of gravity and counteracting vertical reactions at the points of contact of the wheels with the supporting surface, artificial resistance to movement, that is, braking forces, aerodynamic drag force, rolling resistance force, friction in wheel bearings, as well as force inertia counteracting the total resistance force. When braking on a slope, a longitudinal component from gravity is added to the listed forces. Under the influence of inertial force, a redistribution of vertical reactions occurs towards the front axle, which largely depends on the location of the vehicle’s center of mass. If passport data is available, the longitudinal coordinate of the center of mass is simply determined based on the distribution of the total and curb weight along the axes, however, for the VAZ-21713 passenger car with a station wagon body, such data was not available. Therefore, the authors decided to establish the weight ratio between the front and rear axles using an experimental and calculation method. The height of the center of mass was determined by a calculation method with elements of solid-state three-dimensional modeling based on the mass and dimensional characteristics of individual components and assemblies. In this case, the assumption was made that the center of gravity of each mass element of the vehicle is located at its geometric center. The obtained coordinates of the vehicle's center of mass allowed us to carry out a design calculation of the brake mechanisms and a verification calculation of the braking efficiency.

Abstract

The article discusses methods for assessing the structural and technological uniformity of hydraulic hammers, the need for which arises during the technological preparation of multi-nomenclature production. In the complex of technologists' works, the standards of the unified system of technological preparation of production (ESTPP) provide for a constructive and technological classification, including the systematization of products according to the main features of both constructive and technological similarity. Product classification is the first step in creating unified technological processes.

Unlike other stages of the TPP, these works do not have a formalized methodological support, but are based on the experience and intuition of specialists. The article attempts to quantify the properties of the structural and technological uniformity of products. The coefficient of structural and technological uniformity of products proposed by the authors makes it possible to assess the feasibility of expanding the product range, taking into account the use of unified technological processes. It is shown that the known coefficient of reduction of products in terms of labor intensity is a special case of the coefficient proposed in this article, when the structural and technological uniformity of products is not taken into account.

The values of the coefficients of structural and technological uniformity were calculated for the most common models of domestic hydraulic hammers based on the actual data of the current production. The scientific novelty of the presented results consists in the fact that the authors proposed and justified a quantitative assessment of the properties of the structural and technological uniformity of products, which contributes to the methodological support of the most difficult stage of the TPP - the classification of products according to the signs of constructive and technological similarity.

Abstract

This article discusses the theoretical aspects of the possibility of practical application of the modular technology of laying asphalt concrete pavements using the hopper of the loader module. The production cycle during the operation of the module is considered, as well as design solutions that can allow the reloading module to become a universal machine for high-speed road construction and methods of their interaction with basic machines and asphalt concrete mix.

The article proposes an integrated approach to solving such problems as the inclusion of a new construction machine in the road construction kit, which is a bunker modular loader, with the required operating temperature of the asphalt concrete mixture, and if necessary, its additional heating. The efficiency of the machine's operability consists in the possibility of minimizing temperature and fractional segregation, which ensures an increase in its shelf life before use, as well as mechanical mixing and movement of hot asphalt concrete mixture from a dump truck to an asphalt paver.

Abstract

An urgent issue in the road industry is the use of local soils in the construction of roads of high categories. Strengthening and stabilization of soils in the working layer of the subgrade will ensure the required overhaul life of road pavements. The absence in the current standards for the calculation of non-rigid pavement of the calculated characteristics of stabilized soils largely hinders their use in the working layer of the subgrade.

Abstract

The article considers the possibility of using the results of sociological surveys of the population in the field of solving problems for the development of cycling in cities. A bicycle has many advantages over a car. However, the existing transport systems are not adapted to their practical use. In order to develop cycling, it is necessary to make serious changes in the sphere of urban transport planning. To do this, you need to know the transport preferences of the local population. A simple and effective way to achieve this is through opinion polls. A comprehensive version of such a survey was developed by MADI specialists. It includes ten blocks, of which the last three are designed to determine priority tasks in the field of bicycle transport infrastructure development, the best places to place bike parks and public bike rental (bike sharing) stations. Analysis of the results of this survey, obtained in 2022 and 2023, showed firstly a high degree of convergence, and secondly that the majority of residents of Moscow is generally positive about the problem of cycling development. At the same time, according to the results of the analysis, eight theses were formulated on what activities should be organized to accelerate this process. In conclusion, it should be noted that the goals set by the author have been achieved, and the possibility of using the results of sociological surveys in the field of transport planning has been proven.
