Abstract
Automotive thermoanemometric sensors of mass air flow are simple and compact, but have a number of disadvantages, such as the sensitivity of the measuring element to contamination and a strong dependence of the readings on air humidity. This causes the electronic control unit to incorrectly calculate the duration of fuel injection. The proposed sensor is designed to measure the mass flow of air entering the car engine during bench tests. It is compact and highly accurate. The operation of this sensor is based on a directly proportional relationship between the torque of a straight-blade cylindrical impeller installed in a moving medium and the mass flow rate.
