DIALOGUE IN THE HERMENEUTICS OF H.-G. GADAMER AND THE HISTORY OF CULTURE
Abstract
The article is devoted to understanding a work of art or a historical event that is separated from us by the time horizon. As far as understanding is possible through the centuries, as the philosophical hermeneutics of H.-G. writes about it.Gadamera. Philosophical hermeneutics offers two analogies of understanding: the analogy of play and the analogy of conversation. In both cases, the understanding is guided not by the subjectivity of the author, but by the subject of the conversation or the rules of the game. This, according to Gadamer, makes such an understanding objective, since the object and subject being understood are included in the same cultural and historical tradition or current history. Paola Volkova, an art critic and researcher of the history of culture, also talks about the timelessness of a true work of art. A real work of art always requires interpretation, as it attracts the attention of researchers from different eras. Such an interpretation is included in the story as well as a work of art. Both researchers are close in their approach to understanding as a dialogue with a work of art or a historical event. The article raises the question of the truth of understanding. Is it possible that the interpreter understands especially correctly. H.-G.Gadamer believes that al interpretations are equal, since all interpretations included in the historical tradition are equal.
